WHAT
IS OSTEOPATHY?
Osteopathy is a holistic branch of allied health that focuses on improving the physical, mental, and social aspects of health and well-being through the delivery of a biopsychosocial approach. Osteopaths focus on the neuro-musculoskeletal system, which comprises bones, muscles, nerves and other tissues that support the human body and control its movements. They provide musculoskeletal and nervous system assessments, manual therapy, clinical exercise programs, and movement, postural, positioning advice and ergonomic assessments. They may also offer therapeutic needling techniques, such as dry needling or trigger point therapy. Osteopaths may also offer ongoing support and educational advice about lifestyle, stress management, diet or other factors that may influence a person’s pain, injury or movement.
Dr Jesse Spiropolous is the Director of Apex Osteopathy and is an experienced Osteopath whom always had a passion for anatomy, physiology, and medicine, and when he was introduced to osteopathy he knew that it was what he wanted to do. Jesse graduated from RMIT in 2020 with a double degree in Health Sciences and Applied Sciences (Osteopathy).
He focuses on tailoring treatment for each individual patient, and he has a keen interest in exercise rehabilitation due to his sporting background, where he represented Victoria and Australia in American Football.
Outside of the clinic, Jesse is an avid sports fan (particularly AFL, NFL, and soccer), and he enjoys playing golf, weightlifting/powerlifting, and spending time with his friends and family
